The wildest and most scandalous Katy Perry song so far, I believe. California Gurls and Teenage Dream paled in comparison. I haven’t heard anything from her or her contemporaries that is as literal and as vulgar as this track. If this was the first single released from her latest album, I would have given her a standing ovation. Combined with the equally outrageous fearless album cover? It’s a spot on. As sharp as when she re-entered the music scene with I Kissed A Girl, from a gospel singer to a popstar. This is now her trademark. This style redefined her essence as an artist. Now the question is: is she going to release this song? She didn’t released Ur So Gay which also requires parental consent. But let’s see.
“Let’s close this chapter, say one last prayer. But don’t say that you loved me.”
Probably, this is going to be my last song of the moment from Katy Perry’s album One Of The Boys. I love this album. Well, I’m not sure. But I used to loop the whole album when I can’t think of anything to play and I don’t get bored. I appreciate her mellow songs more than those that are upbeat.
Her latest single California Gurls was out before the release of her next album Teenage Dreams. As a first single to represent the contents of the whole material, it would be better for me not to expect because I don’t like it as much as I like her other released singles. Although I’m still looking forward to it. I wish it will be as good as the last one at least. The said release date is August 24.
